Founders - Caleb's Bridge of Hope, Inc.
We are Scott and Amy, two parents, who like so many others have been devastated by the loss of a loved one, due to addiction. We spent the majority of our son's addiction in silence, due to embarrassment and shame.  It’s only been since his passing that we have spoken to others about the last years of his life, hoping to reduce the stigma associated with this insidious disease, that acts as a tornado, destroying lives and families in its path.    Our son, Caleb, struggled for several years with his disease before passing in December of 2022. Caleb was admitted to several treatment centers while working hard to keep his sobriety after he was discharged to a lower level of care. During this period, we noticed some of the pitfalls that occurred in his recovery journey. The greatest challenge for him came after leaving the safe and controlled environment of the in-patient recovery center and moving to a much more independent, and less structured sober living environment. The immediate pressure to find employment, pay bills (both old and new), and still keep up with supporting his recovery by attending IOP, therapy, and meetings created many stressors.  These stressors almost always contributed to his relapses.   We would like to help alleviate some of that stress by providing financial assistance for the first month of sober living rent expenses. Our hope is to honor his life by helping others in need and provide hope as they continue on in their next steps of recovery. Our mission is to help bridge the gap for those who have successfully completed an in-patient addiction recovery treatment program and are stepping down in their level of care. We want to provide applicants with financial assistance to go towards the first month of sober living housing expenses, so they can have time to get established with IOP, recovery meetings, employment, and living in a new setting.
